Day 9 - Mt Fuji, Tokyo

I was greeted by this view in the morning

View of Mt Fuji from the town
.
.
.

Many attempts to get the right jumping shoot using self-timer.
And my effort paid off. haha.

5th Station of Mt Fuji (2300m)
.
"Mount Fuji (富士山) is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776 m (12,388 ft). Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers."

Trekking
.
.
.

My first time trekking in snow
.
.
.

The snow was not the powdery kind for skiing, it was rather coarse like those ice-kachang kind.
.
.
.

Trekking on volcano rocks and snow
.
.
.

The track on Mt Fuji is visible and clear. It is actually an easy trek, which anybody can do it. However, it is not the trekking season, hence, people are discouraged to trek. After the 6th station, I did not see anybody anymore. So it was just Mt Fuji and Me... What a great feeling. =)

Hail Storm
.
.
Even though it is easy to trek on Mt Fuji, it should not be taken lightly especially during the off-season when the mountain is covered with snow. The wind was very strong, and it was kinda like a Hail Storm. I had to squat down with my back facing the wind, and the hailstones were hitting my back. It felt like small stones hitting me relentlessly.
.
That was the point I was abit frightened by the erratic weather. It happened quite a few times.
.
.

Nearing 7th Station.
As I was not properly geared up (wearing sneaker, jean & non-waterproof jacket), I decided to stop trekking. The road infront was covered totally with snow and steep.

Nature is Beautiful
.
.
.

I love Blue Sky
.
.
.
A friend asked me why do I spend so much money on traveling? He said that if I want to see a scenery, just switch on the television and watch a documentary.
.
My conclusion: Mt Fuji is stunningly beautiful.
Viewing it with my own eyes is definitely better than watching it from a light-box. I really could not place a value to an experience.

.
.
I was in the wilderness alone, and a few hours later, I was in the heart of Tokyo City.
That's amazing!

KABUKICHO (SHINJUKU)

"Kabukichō (歌舞伎町) is an entertainment and red-light district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Kabukichō is the location of many hostess bars, host bars, love hotels, shops, restaurants, and nightclubs, and is often called the "Sleepless Town" (眠らない街)."

Red Light District
Full of Pimps and Gigglos
.
.
.

There are a few marketing strategies deployed:
1. Colourful lighted Signages
2. Soliciting by the pimps
3. Distributing pamphlets/cards
4. Display of Escorts on the big LCD Screen (as seen above)
5. Big truck with huge posters
